How FocusCrew worksFocus is easier when someone is doing it with you.

Pick 5, 25, 50 or 75 minutes and press start. The timer reads the clock rather than counting ticks, so it stays right even if you switch tabs, sleep the laptop, or come back on your phone. Twenty-five minutes is the classic Pomodoro; five is there for the days when starting is the hard part.

Add what you are working on and attach it to the session. When the session finishes, that task’s count goes up on its own. Sessions without a task are completely fine — plenty of focused work does not have a name yet.

A crew is three or four people who show up around the same time, most days. Whoever starts it gets a code like FC-7QK2M9 to send you; paste it in and you are in. You can set the days and time you usually meet, so the crew has a rhythm rather than a group chat.

A crew challenge is one number the whole crew works toward — fifty sessions this week, say, or twenty hours. Everyone’s sessions count toward the same total. There is no per-person breakdown, on purpose: the crew’s progress is shared, and how much any one person did is their own business.

Finished sessions earn XP, XP becomes levels, and showing up on consecutive days builds a streak. Badges arrive as you pass the milestones behind them — ten sessions, ten hours, a week of showing up.

Nothing bad. Your streak starts again at one and your longest run stays where it is. There is no red screen, no broken tree, no message about letting your crew down. Missing a day is a normal thing that happens to people who work, and a tool that punishes you for it is a tool you will eventually stop opening.
